Use the current CGA framework
The Curaçao Gaming Authority states that the National Ordinance on Games of Chance, commonly referred to as the LOK, came into effect on 24 December 2024. Its online gaming guidance is the appropriate starting point for reviewing the present framework.

Verify the licence and the entity
When assessing an existing operation or provider, confirm the exact legal entity, current licence status, permitted activities and the domains or services involved. A logo in a website footer is not a complete due diligence exercise. The CGA provides a licence register, with its own qualifications about the currency of the information.
This verification is relevant to platform selection, payment discussions and business acquisitions. A seller's description of a licensed business should be reconciled with the records and the deal actually proposed.
Prepare the business rather than only the forms
A licensing workstream should bring together ownership information, funding, the business plan, supplier arrangements and operational responsibilities. The description of player accounts, funds, technology and customer checks should be consistent across the documents.
